2013 Spring Convention

General Information

The Spring SOMA Convention is held each year in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with D.O. Day on the Hill. In order to participate in both events, please plan to arrive in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday evening, March 13th and plan to depart on Sunday, March 17th. Spring Convention Overview

Description:

During its 2013 Spring Convention, held in conjunction with DO Day on the Hill, the Student Osteopathic Medical Association will focus on student-oriented workshops and speakers. The spring session of the House of Delegates will also convene to vote on resolutions and the incoming board will interview and select the new National Board Members who will serve during the 2013-2014 school year.

Friday, March 15:

The SOMA House of Delegates meets in the morning. During the afternoon, SOMA will hold Resolution Committee Meetings, and workshops. In the evening, an exhibitor mixer with SOMA’s partners and sponsors will be held.

Saturday, March 16:

The SOMA House of Delegates will take place in the morning followed by chapter meetings and workshops in the afternoon. Workshop topics during the spring convention will include OMM and suturing/minor procedures. During the evening, a dinner honoring the outgoing Board and introducing the new SOMA National Board will be held (Place TBD).

Sunday, March 17:

The SOMA community outreach project will take place in the morning.
